Easy 12 steps to solve standard Rubik's Cube (3*3*3)( Fully explained with solution of flip doubts and all )

Easy 12 steps to solve standard Rubik's Cube (3*3*3)

First of all , let us tell you in brief about Rubik's cube . It contains Six faces of Six different color {Blue , Green(opposite to blue) , red , orange (opposite to red) , white ( usually taken as reference color) and yellow (opposite to white) }

To make you easy ,we have given easy name for the layers and moves of cube :

(NOTE : A Center color of cube never moves so below mentioned color facing towards you , to the right , left , up, down and back is a center color which is in the middle of each layer )

FRONT LAYER

F ( Front): The front layer of cube is facing towards you . If F move is to be done then , move the front layer in clockwise direction .

F' ( Front prime ): If F' move is to be done then , move the front layer in anti-clockwise direction

BACK LAYER

B ( Back ) : The back layer is just opposite to the front layer. Suppose , if we take blue as front layer ( layer facing towards you ) then, Green is the back one. If B move is to be done, then move the back layer in clockwise direction.

B' ( Back Prime ) : If B' move is to be done, then  move the back layer in anti-clockwise direction.

UP LAYER

U (Up) : The reference color ( Here, we will deal about white) you take should always be at top. If U move is to be done then, move the up layer in clockwise direction.

U' ( Up prime ) : If U' move is to be done ,then  move the up layer in anti-clockwise direction.

DOWN LAYER

D( Down) : It is the layer opposite to the upmost layer. Yellow is down layer if white is taken as reference. If D move is to be done ,then  move the down layer in clockwise direction.

D' ( Down Prime) : If D' move is to be done, then  move the down layer in anti-clockwise direction.

RIGHT LAYER

R ( Right ) : It is the layer which you hold with your right hand. If blue is facing towards you while taking white as reference , then red color is the right layer. If R move is to be done , then move the right layer in clockwise direction.

R' ( Right Prime ) : If R' move is to be done, then move the right layer in anti-clockwise direction.

LEFT LAYER

L ( Left ) : It is the layer which you hold with your left hand. If blue is facing towards you while taking white as reference , then orange color is the left layer. If L move is to be done , then  move the left layer in clockwise direction.

L' ( Left Prime) : If L' move is to be done, then move the left layer in anti-clockwise direction.

( All the basic ideas of Rubik's cube are completed . Without any further delay , let us move towards 12 easy steps )

Making of Plus/cross (+) :

1.  First of all make white side face UP and make white Plus / Cross (+) as shown in picture at the UP/TOP layer. There are no fix algorithms to make plus because cube may be puzzled in different ways but it's way simple and you can make it easily

2.  After you make PLUS / CROSS, it's time to match the center colors of  first line and middle line.  Sometimes it maybe matched already but number of times it won't. Move the top layer ( U or 2U ; according to situation) so that any two center colors of first and middle line ( example ; red and blue) matches each other. Now, place two matched color in the left and towards you.

3. Now, move the right layer two times in anti-clockwise direction ( 2 R' ) and whichever center color comes in 3rd line of right side, place it to its respective center color of middle line by moving down layer clockwise. After meeting it, move two times in clockwise direction ( 2R ) so that cross also will be as it is and all the center colors of 1st line and middle line also matches.

Solving 1st layer ( White layer )

4. After completing all 3 steps; you should rotate the cube just opposite to the reference color taken( In short, Yellow layer is on the upmost face now). Now, find the corner piece consisting of three colors including white ( as it is reference) on the top layer ( example : blue , orange and white ) Now move the top layer ( only top layer ) until you find blue and orange center color. ( You should do so to place the white color of corner piece down and match the corner piece with center color)

5. Now, follow the algorithm ( R  U  R'  U') until white color corner piece reach down. It may reach in the very first move or may take maximum 5 moves i.e.;  5x ( R  U  R'  U')  or maybe in 2,3 or 4. Repeat the same process for other color until the 1st layer is solved.

( Alert : Make sure that first line of all 6 faces must be solved while doing this otherwise you will mess the whole cube )

Solving 2nd layer / 2nd line of cube

6.  Remember that the reference color taken is white which is in down face and yellow is at up. So, keeping white down ,we will search non yellow and non white piece ( example : red and blue) on the centre of 1st line ( on the top). For full clearance ,  see to the upside and find the piece with only two colors which doesn't contain the color facing up(opposite to reference) and reference color.

7.   You will now match the red and blue color to the respective centre color by moving up face ( U ) . Sometimes maybe more than one time according to condition . Suppose, red color matches with its center . As we know blue face is right to the red face ; according to cube rule we will push the top layer away from the blue face i.e ; ( U ). So, whichever color piece is on top that must be pushed away from the very color face.

8. If up face is pushed towards left , Then apply ( R  U  R'  U' ) on
the right face and immediately switch making the right face as front ( it means past right face should now face front ) and again apply ( L  U'  L'  U )  . Continue the process until you solve the second layer or
second line.

Solving final layer

(Since, this is final layer and toughest to solve among all    layers

you should be very careful and feel free in sharing your queries if you find any problem  to solve Rubik's cube)

 9. Here, our main mission is to make the top layer plus/cross (+) first . Here, top layer is yellow. Sometimes, in rare case cross itself matches but often it won't. So; there are three such cases :

Ø  If  yellow centre piece is only matched

Ø If  yellow is matched in reversed L (  _।) shape

Ø If yellow is matched in PLUS/CROSS

For 1stOR 2nd cases ; apply 2X( F  R  U  R'  U'  F') OR   ( F  R  U  R'  U'  F')respectively.

    10. After these algorithms, we will see Plus/cross on the top layer ; here are also three cases :

Ø If no color matches the central color and 3rd layer color

Ø If two of them matches the central color and 3rd layer color

Ø If all color matches with all central and 3rd layer color.

For 1st case we have to rotate top layer and match any of the two colors which doesn't need any tough algorithms ( U )

11. When two color matches with central and 3rd layer color, place one layer on Right and the other on the back. Then, apply ( R  U  R'  U  R  U'  U'  R' ).Sometimes, it may not match with the very next color to place back and right ; if this condition comes then , by placing any of the colors at right we can apply   ( R  U  R'  U  R  U'  U'  R' ) until all the central colors of all lines matches.

12. After these all steps, now  find the corner piece which matches with the central color . The corner piece will definitely contain yellow and other any two colors. Suppose it contains Orange, green and yellow, then make that corner piece containing face/layer towards you and apply ( U  R  U'  L  U  R'  U'  L' ) algorithm until all the corner piece matches with central color. Now flip the cube upside down and by rotating (D) and then applying ( R  U  R'  U' ) sometimes minimum and sometimes maximum too until the whole Rubik's cube gets solved.
