As the news of the life saving clinical trial has come, we here come to see what is Dexamethasone. The trial in the United Kingdom showed that, Dexamethasone can be life saving for critically ill COVID-19 patients. For patients on ventilators, the treatment was shown to reduce mortality by about one third, and for patients requiring only oxygen, mortality was cut by about one fifth, according to preliminary findings shared with WHO.

The curing capacity of the disease was seen beneficial with the patients who were seriously ill from Covid-19, and wasn't observed in patients with milder disease. 

Dexamethasone is a steroid (A steroid is a biologically active organic compound with four rings arranged in a specific molecular configuration) that has been used since the 1960s to reduce inflammation in a range of conditions, including inflammatory disorders and certain cancers. The WHO had listed it in List of Essential Medicines since 1977 in multiple formulations. It's much cheaper and easily available in most of the countries.

This is great news and we must congratulate the Government of the UK, the University of Oxford, and the many hospitals and patients in the UK who have contributed to this life saving scientific breakthrough. If it successes, then it will become a boon for humanity.
