Yesterday, on January 13, Nepal's Coat of Arms was updated to add Kalapani and Limpiyadhura as in the new Political map. In this context, we today discuss on what actually 'a country is for it's citizen.'
देश भनेकाे के हाे? What is a Country?
जनताका लागि देश के हो ? जनताका लागि देश संविधान, कानुन, नागरिकता, सिमाना र झन्डा मात्र हो ? होइन । जनताका लागि देश राजधानी, त्यसबीच ठडिएको दरबार र त्यसको गजुर हो ? होइन । जनताका लागि देश भनेको सरकार हो ? होइन । जनताका लागि देश निर्वाचन क्षेत्र मात्र हो ? हुँदै होइन । त्यसो भए जनताका लागि के हो त देश ? जनताका लागिदेश चार सिमानाभित्रको माटो मात्र होइन । योसँगै जोडिने भावना, प्रेम, ऊर्जा र सपनाहरूको बगैंचा हो । जनताका लागि देश आशा हो । जनताका लागि देश खेतमा झरेको पसिनाको बियाड हो । आन्दोलनहरूमा सडकमा पोखिएको रगत हो । आफ्ना सपनाहरूको कविता हो । जस्तो, एउटा शिशुका लागि आमाको काख । जस्तो, भर्खर हिँड्दै गरेको एउटा बालकका लागि पिताजीको हात । एउटा यात्रीका लागि देश बाटो हो, जसमाथि ऊ आफ्ना पैतालाका डोबहरू छोड्छ र गन्तव्यतिर बढ्छ । देश भनेको ‘गुँड’ हो, जसले आड दिन्छ । देशभनेको आकासको चन्द्रमा हो, जसले अँध्यारोमा उज्यालो दिन्छ । मैले यहाँ यसकारण भावनात्मक कुरा धेरै गरेको हुँ, किनकि देश धेरै भावनात्मक र थोरै भौगोलिक कुरा हो । देशको परिभाषा सूत्रमा लेखिँदैन, यो भावनामै लेखिन्छ । देश गणित होइन । यो करोडौं मान्छेको मनको कविता हो । यसरी हेर्दा देश सबैथोक हो । पसिना देखि लिएर रगतसम्म पनि देश हो । मेची देखि महाकाली अञ्चल मात्रै देश होइन । ध्वजाको रातो रंग, आकाशमा देखिने बादल र निलो रंग, रगं मात्रै नभएर यहाँका मानिसहरूको एकता, सार्वभौमिकता र अखण्डता सबै देश हुन् । देश नै भावना हो र भावनानै देश हो । देशको नजरमा जनताहरू कोहि पहाडी, कोहि हिमाली र कोहि मधेशी हुदैन । तसर्थ, हामीले पनि यसरी स्थलगत रूपमा कसैलाई हेप्नेहेपिने गर्नु हुँदैन र सदैव देशका लागि एकताबद्ध भएर अगाडि बढ्नुपर्छ ।

What is a Country?
What is a country for the people? Is country just a constitution, laws, citizenship, borders and flags for the people,? No. For the people, is the country the capital, the palace of the capital and the pinnacle of its top? No. Is the country the government for the people? No. Is the country only a constituency for the people? Not so.So, what is the country for the people? For the people, the country is not just a land within four borders. It is a garden of emotions, love, energy and dreams. The
country is hope for the people. For the people, the country is a seed of sweat falling on the fields. The blood spilled on the streets in the movements, is the country. Country is the poem of our dreams. For example, a mother's lap for a baby. For example, a father's hand for a child who is just walking. For a traveler, the country is the road on which he leaves his feet and heads for his destination. The country is the 'nest' that supports the bird. The land is in the moon of the sky, which gives light in the darkness. I have wrote a lot of emotional things here, because the country is much 'emotional' and a little 'geographical'. The definition of a country is not written in formulas, it is written in emotion. Country is not mathematics. It is a poem in the minds of millions of people.
In this way, the country is everything. From sweat to blood, from words to essays, is a country. Mechi to Mahakali zone is not the only country. The red color of the flag, the clouds in the sky and the blue color, no of the sky, only the color but also the unity, sovereignty and integrity of the people are all countries.The country is the feeling and the feeling is the country. In the eyes of the country, peoples are not hilly, mountainous nor Madhesi. Therefore, we should not look down on anyone in this way and should always move forward unitedly for the country.
